Exercise Yard

Today was the 25th anniversary of the Pine Tar Game. It may have been the only time I thought an umpire was about to be killed by a player. I recall George Brett saying he was "gonna go out there", if they had nullified his go-ahead homer.

Of course, they did. Then he did. The continuation of the game was a mockery as Ron Guidry even played the outfield. Might have been Billy Martin's last gasp as a manager.
