In an area that could finally use some good news, the city got some great news today. It looks like the BRAC commission disregarded the Pentagon's plan and kept DFAS Cleveland open and could add as many 300 jobs. It's the first big win the city has had in some time. Kudos to Rep. LaTourette, who was the major player in the fight to keep it. Rep. Tubbs Jones, as well. Kucinich and the mayor will take credit also, but if you watched any of the lobbying, LaTourette was the main guy.

It's incredible in a process that is so politicized, we actually won one. Now let's get some momentum going on other projects.

Katrina and the Waves have another hit. Gimme a break, meteorological humor is not pretty.

I play fantasy football on a very small scale. But now that Berman has actually hosted a fantasy football mock draft on ESPN, I fear the world is ending. This guy hates it, but speaks many truths.

Have you seen the Last-Minute Auction site? Items cost less than a buck and have 60 minutes of bidding left. The Chad Hutchinson rookie card for a penny makes a ton of sense on a lot of levels.

Exercise Yard

Doc Gooden finally turns himself in. I had visions of a white Bronco involved in this case.
